PayPal API and Client Side Certificate Retrieval

• Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/

• Click the "Profile" subtab.

• Click the "API Access" link in the "Account Information" column.

• Click the "Request API Credentials" link.

• Select the radio button next to "API SSL client-side certificate."

• Check the box next to "I agree to the API Certificate Terms of Use, and terms incorporated therein."

• Click "Submit."

• Make a note of the information provided on this page (API Username, API password, etc), you will need it later.

• Click the "Download Certificate" button.

• You may receive a pop-up asking if you would like to "Open" or "Save" the file. Select "Save."

• In the "Save As" box, select the location where you would want to save your certificate (ex. Desktop, My Documents). Note where you save it, because you will need it later.

• Change the "Save As Type" drop-down box from "Text Document" to "All Files."

• Click "Save." That's it!
