Small staff association professionals: Attending ASAE10 & interested in social media?

Our plans for ASAE’s Annual Meeting and Expo are going full-steam ahead. In addition to exhibiting (booth 332!), attending the sessions and events (and the YAPStar party) and hosting the Small Staff Reception on Monday evening, I’m also planning a little informal get-together for small staff association professionals to discuss social media.

I’ve been blogging here for more than a year now — I can’t believe it’s been a full year! — and I have learned so much about how associations can use social media tools. It may seem intimidating and daunting to begin initiatives you know might not succeed, but trial and error is what social media is all about. And if you’re going to be in Los Angeles for the Annual Meeting, I’d love to talk to you all about it!

We’ll be joined by some awesome people in the association community — appearances might be made by Maddie Grant of SocialFish and KiKi L’Italien of Delcor, as well as a few others. Absolutely anyone is welcome and I can’t wait to discuss how small staffs can use social media with everyone who is interested.

Right now, the plan is to meet at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, at Booth 332. From there, we’ll head out to a to-be-determined place near the expo hall — I’ll be scouting out potential places that morning.

I really hope any and all small staff association professionals can join us. This will be a very casual get-together, and we’ll be chatting about all things social media-related, especially how small staffs can dive in with limited time and resources.

Hope to see you there!
