I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I’ll be participating in a Component Relations Section webinar titled “Using Social Media to Promote Chapter Events.” The webinar will last from 12 to 1 ET, participants can earn up to 1 hour of CAE credit and it’s free!

I believe KiKi L’Italien will be moderating, and I’m honored to be a panelist, alongside Peggy Hoffman of Mariner Management and Marketing LLC, Andy Steggles of Higher Logic LLC and Kimberly Mosley of the American College of Healthcare.

Although “social media” as a buzzword has worn its wear a bit, I really think this webinar will offer some fantastic information. Smaller components and organizations should consider participating if they’re apprehensive about using social media. (Did I mention it’s free?!)

To register, just click on over here and sign up. You’ll receive a phone number to call with a passcode; just dial in right before noon ET this Wednesday, March 24.

Here’s some more information about my fellow panelists and myself. Again, I’m honored and excited to be participating!

Andy StegglesHigher Logic LLC - Andy Steggles is the Chief Operating Officer & Social Strategist for Higher Logic, a white label social media software company which specializes in associations.  Mr. Steggles is the author of “Social Networking for Non-Profits” which is due to be published by ASAE in April. (RIMS) where he headed their social strategy initiatives.  Mr. Steggles was also the founder of the Social Networking and Media Association, a non-profit dedicated to the advancing the social web.

If you’re curious as to how your organization or chapter can use social media to promote events, I hope you’ll participate!
